There is no Central Jersey. Jersey is too small to have a Central area, it is either North or South Jersey. Anything below Bergen county is South Jersey. Anything west of Bergen county might as well be Pennsyltucky.

center of the state (the dividing line btwn north and south jersey) is approximately rt 195 . . . . . geographically speaking. . . (making allaire the northernmost south jersey park 😛

Lemme guess, you're from Bergen Co?

Ok. So there is a central jersey. It's defined as the Taylor ham/Pork Roll line. But ends where you get into the real jersey shore/wasteland inland of the shore.

My family is from Carltadt, where I lived till age 8. Then we moved to the sticks of Morris County, which I much prefer. Now I live down in Middletown (Monmouth County ) which has the best of all worlds...sorta.

I like to think of it as central jersey with the shore.

We've got great restaurants and night life in Atlantic Highlands and Red Bank. Woods via Hartshorne (though I grew up with a large nature preserve right out my backyard, so they won't have the same experience of just going out and swinging from vines that I had). Going to the beach is a casual thing being 5 minutes away. Not an event at all like if you were driving over an hour. Luxury ferry to NYC (full bar on board). We found a pretty great little spot of the state.
