Today was supposed to be the day. I was there last night and it looked done. They had a little excavator parked in the middle of the road, but otherwise all their equipment is gone

Darn it. I ride chimney rock 3x/week and thought that bridge closure was fantastic. It was kind of like living on a cul de sac.

$1.3m you say? I can tell you one area they wasted a ton of money. I watched in amazement one afternoon as the workers applied real stone w/mortar to the cement foundation. Looks beautiful, and was well done. But really? Even the parts buried under the roadway? Hooray government!
