Hey guys, My name is Chris from Carteret (exit 12 on the NJTP) and I'm new to your site.

I was looking around and this seems like a really well informed site for NJ riders.

anyway, I'm new to mountainbiking. My wife bought me a bike and now I'm hooked! haha!

I know it isn't the best setup in the world, and please don't look down on me because of that. My ride is a K2 Zed 3.2 2009 model. It is kind of low end compared to the bikes most of you guys have, but it is fine for me. I plan un hopping it up as time goes on. I'm sure it will get me through some nice trails.

I plan on being around for a while and hope to learn alot from everybody here. Maybe we can meet up at a trail some time.

Don't be shy, all kinds of bikes are welcome here. In fact, they even let us talk about our road bikes sometimes!😉

Welcome completely agree with Norm!! Don't worry about what you ride. I was in your shoes recently and just upgraded. Just get out on the trails and enjoy it!
 
Dont worry about the bike. Learn with that one, beat the shit out of it and then upgrade to something better. Remember, it is the RIDER, not the BIKE. 😉

if you get a chance the beginner rides at allaire are a great time.
 
Welcome! Getting on the trails is what's most important - the bike is secondary! Sounds like you've got the right idea - ride the paint off of your current bike - upgrade and replace as time goes by.

This MTB community is a great thing we got here - enjoy! Hope to see you out on the trails!
