New Cleat/Shoe fitting

Shaggz

A strong 7
I have no idea why it's so hard to find a recommendation for this. I purchased a new pair of road shoes and cleats (wahoo speedplay), and am looking for help with a fitting. Any recommendations in Sussex/Morris area would be appreciated. My knees aren't in the best of shape, and I don't really want to experiment or figure it out on my own.

Thanks!

check out bicycle tech in lincoln park, they do full bike fits, i believe that they do cleats adjustments as well.

You can just try the bracketing method instead of giving a shop all that money.

Basically move the cleat all to one side and go for some rides, note where your knee hurts. Then move the cleat completely to the other side and note where the new pain is in your knee.

Then take big steps to move the cleat in between those two and then minor steps as you dial in the pain not being there.

Repeat for the fore-aft placement of the cleat and you're all set.

You can buy me a beer whenever, your welcome.

Make the drive down. I promise it will be worth it. Call to make an appointment

Listen to @jdog, he's right, it's totally worth it.

I drove out to Halter's a couple of weeks ago for a fitting by Don, it was absolutely worth it (I'm in Monmouth County, 10 minutes north of Hartshorne). Huge improvement in overall feel and comfort and my knees feel much better.

Honestly, it's made a world of difference, I highly recommend it.

I've been planning to post about it in detail, just haven't found the time.

I'll be setting up an appointment for another pair of shoes in a couple of weeks (once I'm healed and my bike is fixed from my crash).

I had my road and CX bikes fir by Jesse at Marty's in Morristown. I think he spends most of his time now in the East Hanover shop. Give them a call.
