Belize is amazing if you're looking for something tropical. Beach days, some jungle, day trips to Mayan ruins (really great day trip to Tikal in Guatemala) if you're interested... There are MTB rentals and trails but I haven't partaken.

Costa Rica: same to all of the above, plus surfing and potable tap water.

Cannot recommend Central America high enough - pretty short plane ride and the locals all love the US Dollar. I can nearly guarantee you'll have a good time.

solo trip

Not sure it’s the place I’d choose to go solo. Depends on the length of your trip. We do spend a lot of the time just laying around on the beach.

Negril is really chill and much less expensive. Seemed to have many more solo travelers.

booking a flight for Aruba. Anyone have any stay recommendations, or places to explore?

Aruba was cool. I stayed at the Marriot something or other and rented a bike that they dropped off at the hotel. I took it out one day and just rode around the outside of the whole island. It was pretty cool. Just keep an eye out for stray dogs. They can make your joyride turn into intervals pretty quickly.

Rented a pretty good bike today. There is single track and mountain bike tours, but I've only gotten to steep dirt roads so far. Things are expensive and safe.

Start a family and they'll give you plenty of vacation ideas. I get about 3 or 4 a year.
