Nassau Trail conditions

I thought they were keeping it onsite to stop the spread ... I know It's probably too late for that.
I live in HB. The email they sent to residents was basically "If you take the free wood, don't take it out of High Bridge...to limit the spread"

Rode it all today. Trails are in great shape. A little tacky in the places mentioned but everything was ridable. Foran to the fields, Flatlands, and climb on the Connector trail from Nassau Rd up to Springside were good.

Everything today was good, was leaving as the rain started. Tree down on la preimera not far from the lot, ambitious fellers could probably tackle it with a handsaw but chainsaw would be ideal. Another tree down on chips trail, would require a chainsaw but seems like it's been there a while and almost became a feature.

He hiked it because he was on his singlespeed. He was softer than the trail.
Fuggin brutal. LOL

Nassau was good to go this afternoon. Very little moisture and zero puddles on the parts I traversed. Think the mild nights and sunny, windy weather helped.

Tree down near the main Nassau lot.

Dunno how things will be like this time Saturday and Sunday due to freeze thaw. Should be solid in the am though.

Conditions were nice today....no surprise I suppose given how cold it was. There was one tree down on the Ridgeline trail maybe 2/3 of the way down before it connects with Bench, coming from the upper Nassau road lot. Not huge, maybe 10-12" diameter, but we had no tools on us to deal with it.

Would not call them perfect but conditions were not bad. Some soft spots but zero mud or puddles. That sandy, coarse soil is pretty damn good at shrugging off rain. Did just about all of it except for the connector to Foran.

A

Two big trees down on the Nassau side near the little lot. First one has some kind of sketchy stair step. Eff that. I hiked-a-bike over it.

Second was actually two big trees and their tangled root systems.

Also, tons of sticks and branches every where. Cleared what I could. Some branches looked to be placed purposely, like someone had jammed one end into the ground and positioned the branches in the path of travel. At first, I chalked it up to coincidence and happenstance. If a branch falls just right, I guess it could stake itself into soft, rain-soaked dirt? But coming across a half dozen of these I began to wonder.

Afterwards, hit up the Columbia via the Komline property.

I've dealt with those same jerks...
Think I ran into the same group today! Except when they see me in pretty sure they're looking me up and down thinking "I can take him." That said, great conditions today!

If anyone comes across a Fossil gen 6 smartwatch mine fell off today. Didn't notice until like half way home.

It didn't have the stock band, is got a black band with red outlined holes.

Rode today. Parked at the soccer field for the first time this year. Bad choice. The trail from the field to the boardwalk was a bit wet. Everything else was good. Hit it tomorrow before it rains for days
