MT Man Pre-Ride 10/17 Noon @ LM

Hey all, i've got a few people interested in a pre-run/pre-ride of LM.

We are going to meet at noon at the pavilion near the lake. Start out with a two mile run - and we will be going slow! Very slow, like bring your 10 yo kid slow. figure 30 minutes. We will then collect the bikes from the lot, and go for a slow loop. it is 5ish miles, and is going to take an hour (at least)

I'm sure a faster group will go out ahead. There are some roadies and kids i'll be working with to conquer the course.

We'll fire up some grub afterwards. Maybe by 2:30? Pot luck, bring something along to contribute.

Sorry i can't make TM - but will try to get there in some future date.

Like i said, we are going to be kid, and newbie friendly.
 
The ride sounds fun, the run... Not so much.

Does cycling fitness carry over to running?

Cardio wise yes, but it's an entirely different leg muscle group (imo), so your legs, feet, and butt may tire out before your lungs do. Still, give it a go. I ran a 5 mile race over the summer with only running 3 mile loops as practice. Wasn't terrible at all, and I still had juice in the tank at the end. Give it a shot!
