mrp ramp control cartridge

Good stuff . It does more than just tokens as it kinda let's high speed compression blow through so even if you crank it down to make it firm it will still allow hard high speed hits to move the fork freely . I recommend it

has anyone used one? or looked into it? i (literally) stumbled across them while looking for volume spacers and torque specs to adjust spacers on my fork.

This is the thing I put in my fork that I was telling you about, was like getting a new fork:

The difference between this and the MRP is that the MRP is more about creating tuneable bottom out resistance without having to add tokens. In theory, that should allow you to run less air pressure and give you a more supple initial stroke. The Luftkappe prioritizes a supple initial stroke, and my nature of the fact that it takes the place of a spacer, gives you the mid-stroke support and bottom out ramp up. Which one is for you depends on where your issue lies, bottom out or initial stroke?

I’ve been eyeing one up for some time. I think I’ll have one for sur in my next build.

So better to tune air spring ramp up with this than to be adding tokens to the fork?
Both achieve similar results but are you going to experiment as much if you have to take air cap off to add or subtract tokens ? Depending on fork do you know if it currently has tokens or not ? General rule is the less travel the more tokens

It's a fox 34 140mm. Supposedly it has 2 tokens in it according to fox's website. Shockwiz is tentatively suggesting one more. (Confidence is not high yet). You are correct about less playing with it with tokens...

They go inside the air chamber to control how much air volume is present. More toke s = less volume l. As you compress the fork more volume equals slower spring rate increase. Less volume means that rate builds more quickly and resist bottom out better.

I'm sire @Ryan.P can exain better but the gist is there

What are tokens and what do they do??

These be tokens......

The long and short of it is..... by reducing the air volume it makes the fork stiffer as it goes thru it’s progression.

Or

It starts off soft and gets firmer the deeper it goes.....

I installed one on my fox 34, and increased the travel 10mm to 140. What a difference! It does everything they claim, no false advertising here. Makes me question why the fork was so crappy before.

Pretty sure the MRP piece is not compatible with the Luftkapp, but once the proper amount of token is selected it's a done deal.
