Mild Infuriations

What's the big deal?
No big deal at all just that it seems silly. Do you guys have a hamper? My thoughts are based on that if you have a hamper and put your cloths in it then when its time for a wash you just empty the hamper and do a was, his and hers. But thats just me and i was raised in a different era. I guess if 2 people that were very independent before hooking up will stay independent after then. Not sure thsts a real sentence but it works if you get my point @MissJR

like-colors or like-fabrics together? Now that we are in full-hijack mode.
All my clothes are washed in cold water, air dried, everything washed inside out. Delicates separate (blouses and intimates... I also use a lingerie bag), jeans and corduroy pants and such together (zippers zipped so they don't get caught on anything), then cotton tees and such together. And sports stuff obviously separate. Sheets and towels and stuff are the only things I wash in hot water. I wish I had a front loading washer but we rent sooooo. :/

I have my own hampers... One for delicates and one for everything else (sports stuff gets a separate basket because of gross sweat factor). He has his own laundry basket.

A lot of this probably just came from us moving in together and just figuring out how to blend lives and what works and what doesn't.

Actually without digging into my dysfunctional upbringing but I been doing my own since early elementary days. Yes I was the wrinkled kid with long hair.

Same here, until I moved in with my wife. The living together was an odd situation so I (not so reluctantly) gave up my laundry duties. These days I'd guess we're 70/30 in who is doing the laundry.

This is a fun discussion. How does everyone handle it when someone forgets to put the wet stuff in the dryer for like 3 days? Man.....

this gives my kid an excuse to take everything off inside-out!
i wash and fold it that way (properly sorted of course....) - although i'm not sure that is best for inside out baseball pants, and sport socks.
- he will wash his own stuff. i get a chuckle when he washes what he thinks he is going to wear, rather than everything that would go in the load.....
- my w1f3 is from STL - so there is a "red" load, as in full, red load.
- front load machine is nice, except for the gross factor on the front gasket. there is a little water catch area that needs to be cleaned every so often.
- The new machines where they top-load, and lower the front a bit seem nice - also, no agitator.
- Dryer has "damp dry" option - so things that can shrink get removed to air dry, the others get baked.

perhaps a 'post your laundry area' thread? 🙄

Brings me back, my brother and I were the same way. And we did it every night.....

So onto other things:
Even though I have an office and don’t sit in cubicle land, it bothers me when people use speaker phone in their cubes. Completely inconsiderate of people around you.
Can I lump people conducting business on their cell phones in the bathroom stall next to you with that?

We moved to an open work space setup. Nobody has their own spot... First come first served. Unless you're a VP.
So we all work in a super loud environment. It's taken a lot to get used to.

My company is trying to go this direction, but with assigned spaces. I'll just work from home as much as possible once this happens. Then in 5 years someone will have a great new idea that we should all have our own private spaces to boost productivity

I'm afraid that private space will be in some low cost location, NC in my case. I work in NYC and VP title does not give me a dedicated seat 🙁

This thread is getting good.
I'm going to start doing my own laundry.
Then only mow half the lawn, blow half the leaves, and then do only my taxes and change the oil and summer tire change on only my car.

HEY GUESS WHAT HONEY, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WASH MY SOCKS NOW.

VPs at my company are 7 figure salary with even bigger bonuses. They pretty much do what they want and deservedly so.

Car shopping... just did this a few weeks ago when we bought the HL and now I have to do it again!

It does have some good points as well. It's nice to sit in different spots and meet new people. It's a huge company and my department has over a hundred people in it doing all kinds of shit. So it's definitely advantageous to network and know what other people are working on.
The actual desks are pretty sick too... adjustable height stations with 2 24 inch monitors.
And they make sure there is sanitizer and wipes to clean a spot before you set up shop.
But being a device guy, I literally have at least 10-15 devices in my possession so not having a desk to keep them in is a PITA. We have little lockers where I put them, but I'm constantly walking back and forth.
