Mia Meets Bike

There's been much discussion about sponsored athletes vs. so-called influencers in various action sports. As someone who is pretty close to the pointy end, do you see any avenue to becoming a professional making a legit living off your skillz? Or do you think the industry is moving away from racing as the main form of promotion and brand validation?

I know I haven't commented on the blog yet. Short version, Mia is awesome, her attitude is awesome, and her baked goods rock. I was not aware of the eating disorder, the most down I've ever seen you is climbing up NWD, which is how most normal (aka not Dan or Jim) people feel doing that. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself and looking forward to more insight into our silent assassin!
Cheers!

How many times did you ride at Fugawe over Winter break, and as a followup because that was a rhetorical question, what is wrong with you?
so I went back to my strava and I rode Fugawe 12 or 13 times. I would say there may be something wrong with me, but maybe everyone else has something wrong with them because they don't like it and its not us 🤣

Well... I know I'm not on the shit list of teammates (and if I am, just remember I do the kit orders and can make your rides very uncomfortable)

Anyway...

If you could go back to see any artist/band live, which artist/band would you see and when? (I say "when" because, for example, a Rolling Stones show in the 60s would be much different than a show in the 00s)
I would say if I could go back and see any artist live it would be Blink 182 in like 1999-2000.

Hi @Meatball Mia
What are your thoughts on lifestyle drugs like ozempic vs actually changing your lifestyle to improve your health? Seems people just want the easy way out and eat wagyu steak every week then pop a statin pill.
I think ozempic is not a good thing unless its absolutely necessary for someone. I think the way doctors just prescribe it for no reason is an issue with healthcare and the advertising behind some pharmaceutical drugs.

Man, these questions are terrible....lets get to something more interesting....

Should the Raiders keep Antonio Pearce as head coach for next year? Do you ever want to see Aiden O'Connell playing QB again?

How on earth did you become a Raiders fan? I get @mattybfat....he's old enough to have seen the Fred Biletnikoff days.....You are only old enough to have seen the Jamarcus Russel era 🙂
I think the radiers should only keep Antonio Pearce if they can't get Gruden back. I think he would be a good backup QB but he still needs more time to be a good starting QB.

I became a raiders fan because of my dad mostly but I also love the raider mentality.

I don't even know where Fugawe is other than the general WC area. And it's not that I don't like WC, but rather WC hates me and lets me know every time I go there.

i think the industry is moving slightly away from racing, so right now I would not say I am planning to become a full time racer. I would prefer to kind of get settled into a career and maybe some other stuff before I commit to going full time pro. But if a factory came after me now it might be a different decision.

@Meatball Mia , serious question now.

Do you like cooking or baking better?

Or you a fancy cooker? Or one pot meal type of person? whats your favorite thing to cook?

Fav brakes?
So I like cooking better than baking because I usually have to very scientific and exact, but when I'm cooking I can be a little more creative and do whatever I want. I don't have to measure things most times and I just do what tastes good and seems right. I can be a fancy chef when I need to be, but I love just making whatever.

My favorite thing to cook is meatballs, hence my screen name 🤣

My favorite brakes that I've used are Magura MT5s, but I just got MT7's which I think I'm going to like better and will become my favorite.

I like this answer, let's go with that 🤣

Sorry Dave, but we've just established that Dan, Mia, and I are normal, and the rest of you have something wrong with you.

I'll say this was the first time I ever climbed it and it was just down right horrible and I hated my bike at the time, BUT.... I did it another time and it actually wasn't that bad I kind of enjoyed it.

Haha, see? That's totally something a normal person would do and say.

I would say if I could go back and see any artist live it would be Blink 182 in like 1999-2000.

Good choice. Melinda and I saw them with Green Day twice in 2002, and it was awesome.

Edited to add, we also saw Blink 182 at Waterloo Village in 2000 😛

Man, time flies.

Funny....I saw them as part of the warped tour in what was at the time a completely destroyed Asbury..traffic lights laying in the streets and everything....I cant remember if it was 98 or 99 tho. Really, I went to go see Nofx/Bad religion but I remember them being good. Josie still cracks me up every time I hear it.

omg Gruden? after all the crap they found in those emails, hes never coming back.

my dad said there are rumors that he could come back.

I wouldn't feel bad, WC hates everyone pretty equally. 😉 Wildcat does love rear derailleurs though.
