Looking to add 1/2" bars to this old towel rack. 20" wide, 8 pieces.

I need:
The material.
The material cut.
Each of the eight bars welded/soldered on.
See photo:

Each rod (bar?) would be attached behind the curved pieces holding the bars in the front.

Does that make sense?

Who can help?

I might be able to help but confused on where exactly you want the said 20" bars . Also what material is the rack ?

Not really sure what type of metal it is. It's really light though. It's got a very fine rust texture, not rough.
Here's a close up of where we'd like to place the new rods, where the flashlight is....

might be aluminum if so im no help , try sticking a magnet to it , steel will stick aluminum will not .

maybe use electrical conduit and secure with small bolts drilled from underside ?

my call is jb weld or similar epoxy. chances are if its steel its stupid thin pot metal than wont weld worth a damn.

this sounds good - with two connection spots in the "Y", and some 60 minute epoxy, anything put in there will stick.
it also can be worked with a dremel and painted up. Rustoleum makes a paint that has the powder coat look.

Find sturdy curtain rods, so you'll have decorative ends - maybe have them extend out a bit farther, so they can be used as hooks (for your helmets)

I say mount some 29er wheels and ride it at creek or roof drop...

i'm getting advertising for bulk metal distribution....the bentley ads seems to have died down.
