March mayhem status?

wow, some turnout...over 300 pre regd...nice!
And the Pro/Open is quite a list of axe murderers.

I'd agree that HoH has taken some would-be racers out of the mix, but the proximity of the event to Philadelphia has also pulled in a population that is less likely to trek north to Ringwood/Wawayanda/etc.

Today in the race, I don't know, that is why I am asking. 🙂

People I know on strava posted about it and said the marshalls did nothing. But I don't have details.

They held up the cat3 podiums and talked with the top 5 finishers (I think cat3 40-49). Don't know what they talked about.

I heard there was a section of the course not taped sufficiently (but the turn was marked with the arrow on the tree) and a few racers went off course during the Cat3 race. It happened to a guy in our group during the Cat2 race on the first lap but was fixed the following laps.

I also would've swore I passed a fellow SS racer on the second lap and he never passed me back but somehow placed ahead of me? However, I'm 99.9% certain I was just slow and under geared today to earn the DFL title and not even sure it was the same guy.

Overall it was a fun hammerfest today! Loved the bridges by the lake, the stair descent (a lot of fun on rigid), and the short steep climb followed by the steep descent.

Bring on the rocks, climbs, and tech up north! I'm clearly not a flat, flowy course racer.

Yeah, I was leading the Cat 3 40-49 for the first two miles or so. Made a right when I should have made left. 2nd thru 4th followed. We figured it out quickly, turned around and got back on. Never skipped anything. Just went the wrong way and then back tracked.
We were far enough ahead (I think) that we were still the lead group. I was fourth, if that was the case, so I didn't stick around.
Strava file here..... you can see on lap one where we zigged instead of zagged.

Hope they got everything sorted out.
