i am excite as well!
Now you got me researching single pivot designs, durnit. Anyone ridden one of these (in 26 of course)?

Rode one of the older, made in the US bike. Very solid bike, on the heavy side, but rode well compared to other single pivots. A lot of guys built these up as free ride bikes back in the day, before the Nomad. If your coming off of a modern bike with a more sophisticated suspension design, you will notice that it's not as active when your on the brakes, it likes to run WFO.

Having said that, if you want to really ride a better no linkage, single pivot, the Prophet gets my vote, that bike was great period.
How do they climb? Opinions vary from lots o' bob to better than average. Odd.
Personally I'd be fine with a little less plush if it traded off for a better climbing platform.
If I ever see a Prophet rattling around on CL at a right price I'll give it a sniff. Thanks.

I have ! I ride a 2011 heckler (26" obviously) and absolutely love it ! I don't have much to compare it to considering its the first full suspension bike I have owned but I can tell you I have no intentions of getting rid of it for anything else !

Doesn't climb as good as something like DW link, VPP, or Horst, but not that bad. If you stay smooth sit and spin, it eats up the terrain pretty well.
Which is pretty much every other design out there! 😀 Hmm. Well, Mr. Ashaw568 and I have been meaning to hook up for a ride, maybe he'll let me play with his toy a little.
Idea would be to maybe sell the DH bike and have something multi-purpose like the Heckler instead.

I find it funny that Cdale fanboys come out when Heckler is the original and way more solid single pivot. My heckler i had was longest bike ownership in my long history of cycles. I won x/c and DH races at mt snow on it. I cherished that bike. Was sad to let it go.
I had a nomad i didn't see a huge difference in climbing over the heckler. In fact i would take it over the nomad.
Do know the new Heckler now only comes 650b no more 26" available.

I've got a '12 with the Fox CTD, and I don't notice much bob at all even w/o switching into Climb mode. Coming from an FSR suspension and I don't notice a ton of difference - maybe not quite as smooth. It's a fairly long travel bike so I expected it to not be as good climbing, but have been pleasantly surprised. Think positioning of the link in relation to BB (forward and above) helps a lot with the overall ride/minimizing bob.
Also, while Santa Cruz discounts it, I'm a fan of suspension designs that have the wheel moving backward in its arc when first engaged ... might be psychological but think it smooths out hits on small, square stuff.
Love this bike and psyched to check it out in 650b.

I used to think the same thing until I got my current bike that is DW link. I had throw away a few of my previous assumptions on FS. I can stand up and on this bike way more when I'm climbing, to the point were my its definitely changed my riding style.
Sometimes i wonder who you're even talking about. 🙂

The rush is an excellent single pivot bike. That is what I rode before I got my EWR and when I actually rode MTB's. The single pivots have a much stiffer lateral rear end compared to multi-link suspension where the pivots are located near the BB and in the rear triangle.
My hate started way back when obnoxious fanboy claimed their super v and stupid headshocks were the far superior. Dude was a friend but a complete asshat. Swore i would never own or ride a Crackendale. I like to ride my bikes not fix them 😛
I rode my rush with a fox fork 🙂 even doe the reducers cups looked alittle silly around a 1 1/8 king headset.
