Lewis Morris Conditions

4.5/ 5. Some soft spots on a couple of sections otherwise good to go

Park is nice right now. New downhill trail had two large roots removed and some other minor work done. Heard it maybe part of the race in June. Also removed some roots on middle orange near the fire road, still a lot more to go.

Looking to get a work day together soon to cut a reroute by the back parking lot in the next few weeks.

New downhill trail?

I roughed up a number of the damp spots where ruts were forming as the spots were drying out. This helps them lay flat as the drying cycle completes. The only two I couldn’t get to are on the downhill/sidewinder trail. There are mud ridges forming on the downslope side of two of the troughs. This prevents water from shedding off the trail leading to muddy spots.

Thanks! The downhill trail is going to need some other work too, now that it’s being ridden we came fine tune.

In other news red reroute already had tire marks 😄

And in similar news, yesterday I spotted someone riding the closed trail. You know, the one with GIANT “Trail Closed” signs on both ends and netting that you cannot miss. SMH. 🤦‍♂️ I placed some deadfall at one entrance to discourage further intrusions. Not even sure why anyone would want to ride that trail when the reroute is light years better.
