1) Yes, yellow jersey goes last. Big advantage as per Phil.

2) I was also wondering this. It's typically a parade into Paris with no change in positions up front. Is that in respect for tradition/the race or just because you can't make up enough on a flat, short stage anyway?

3) No clue.

Yes.
Sunday is traditionally a procession. But if your scenario came true it sure could get interesting.
The sprinters got docked again today, though the ratios remained the same as Rojas was docked too.

Last day is cerimonial and there will be no attacks on this day except for the sprint at the end. There is no bigger stage for the sprinter than on the "champs".

Cavendish is still in green and will like be there in Paris. He will probably win the last stage too. I am glad to seen it.
 
Today was AWESOME!!!!

Everyone performed, I even gained a smudge of respect for Contador with the relentless attacks... I don't care if Andy or Cadel wins, although I kind of want Andy just because I feel like the yellow jersey was "yoinked" from him in chaingate last year. Great Tour this year and the next two days should be fun too.

Hey,
I don't want to cause the derailment of the thread by asking, but this disdain for AC is pretty common on US cycling forums. Why do you not respect him? I'm just asking, not baiting a trap or anything. Speaking for myself, the only questionable act so far was the attack during Andy's mechanical. Other than that I see him as a pretty stoic racer who lets his riding do the talking.

I think it started when he was teammates with Lance in '09. There were a few questionable things he did .. I think in 1 instance it caused Lance to be not in Yellow. Lance and other Astana teammates were not happy with him. Since every in the US has a hard on for Lance, there's a strong anti-AC sentiment, but I think that's getting more relaxed.
 
Not hatin, really

I don't really get overly emotional about sports in general. As far as Contador goes, I just always got a db vibe from him. I think there were some things in past Tours I didn't really dig from him, but "chaingate", haha, kind of just made me say "meh" to him. I expected more from a rider of his caliber. Then after chaingate, when he tried to be all nicey nice with Andy Schleck and gave him the huggy huggy love slaps on the face, I thought that was pretty punch worthy. No one wants to be handled that way after an incident and a loss like that, especially when you have "anger in your stomach". Haha. Anyway, I think there was something from the Astana, Armstrong years too. He's a seriously good climber and rider in general, but there just happens to be like 150 other guys in the peleton I'd rather see on the podium. That's really all I got. There's certainly a lot of emotion in the cycling world when u mention his name.
 
Ya know, that stuff that happened in 2009 when Contador and Armstrong were on Astana together. My impression at the time was that Contador sensed that if he didn't take matters into his own hands he'd be the victim of Lance-centric team orders from Bruneel (sp?). There was some precedence for it (betraying a Spanish GC contender) on an Armstrong / Bruneel team
 
Contador will be known as the rider that changed the unwritten rules. With respect to the face grab/slap of Andy - I was surprised that Andy did not throw his bike at AC after such a condescending gesture.

Also, from what I understand, AC had orders not to attack LA yet at that point of the 09 tour. Whether or not the team director was right or being fair to AC, he does not come across as a team player. Also, he just sounds like a d-bag every time he opens his mouth. At least Tyler Farrar had the balls to admit he made a dumb comment the other day (gained some more respect IMO).

I don't get the feeling that his teammates like to work for him either. They did not protect him from any of the early crashes and instead let him get boxed into the back half of the peloton. Today was the strongest showing, but I think it was more of a case of his team members wanting to put themselves in position for a potential stage win.
 
On a lighter note, did anyone keep the Eurosport post-race feed running. Did I hear it correctly when all three round-table commentators picked Evans to win following the ITT?

Yeah, that's pretty much agreed to by all the experts. Andy's dad was quoted as saying he doesn't think his son can win against Evans:

I think Europeans tend to be more modest (honest?) with their predictions. i.e. Voelker saying "there's no way i'll keep the jersey". Can you picture an NFL player saying something like that? They'd get crucified in the press and talk shows.
 
The velonews tdf edition had the tt podium as tony Martin, cancellera and Evans, so that days something right there. The only thing Andy schleck has going for him is that Evans had to chase on his own for the last two days, but Andy had tough rides too, so who knows.
