Last time saying "I've never broken xxx" backfired

Hi guys,
Just wondering when the last time you said "Ive never broken xxx" has backfired. For instance, I was always reading or hearing people talk about thorn punctures. The weekend after telling my friend "that's never happened to me… I don’t think a thorn can go through a tube…” I got a flat- you guessed it- from not just a thorn puncture, but from 3 or 4 thorns.
A few rides after saying “why do people always yap about breaking a spoke- I’ve never done or seen that” I was a few miles from the Jeep when I heard “PING!!!” and felt a bad wobble. Sure ‘nuff… Broke a spoke.

i've said for the past year that i never break tubes. in the last 10 days i've gone through 4 or 5 of them. picked up my new tubeless wheel set today 😀 :getsome:

Try eliminating the words "never" and "always" from your day to day talk... I say this without sarcasm... If you think about it there is no truth to either word...
