Up until a month ago, I would have said I was the Logistics/Operations Manager for a Bath Accessory distributor and warehousing company. Unfortunately, we are in a niche market, competing with much larger companies that can sell for much less. As well as the fact that over the years a lot of our customers have gone belly up, has made it time for us to shut our doors. We're playing it day by day here. Not sure if I have 1 week or 6 months left.

I've been with the company for 25 years as of Nov 1. At 45 years old, I'm faced with starting a new career. With no college and no formal training, I know I it will be tough, but you either step up when you need to, or get stepped on, I guess.

This job, and being a mechanic/manager at a bike shop in the 80s are basically the only jobs I've ever had. Being a small company, I've done everything from accounting to cleaning the bathrooms. I've also been the in-house IT guy at this company, so I've decided if I have to do something new, why not do something I am interested in? I've been studying for the A+ exam, which I hope to take soon, then I'll work up from there.
