I'm happy with 11th. My goal was to finish in the top 50% and looks like I've achieved that.

the morning started pretty lame cause i didn't have any cup noodles, wtf! so i had to just eat regular ramen noodles 🙄 soooo much better when their in a styrofoam cup.

anywho, i didn't feel as good as i did last week. I wasn't digging the course either. I tend to like trails that are either really rocky (like sourlands) or super smooth (like six mile). KSVP fell into a sort of middle ground that i'm not too fond of. Smooth and flat enough to encourage tons of speed whilst having a bunch of sneaky little rocks to toss you around. the greasy conditions didn't help. whatever, racing is racing.

i stuck to the game plan and started the race blazing. right off the line i created a nice gap but it didn't hold and Tom was on my tail once we got into the singletrack. i fell trying to pass a straggler right before a clearing in the beginning of the first lap. Tom seized the opportunity and stole the lead. this was the only time during the race that i wasn't in first. however, i was able to recover and was leading the pack again with in a few seconds. that was the last time i saw him during the race.

I just kept passing and passing everyone that came in sight. with the exception of a spectacular otb crash whilst picking up my feed, my race went smoothly. I got first and took the state champ title.
