Just got in

I have eaten horse meat. What's that about cars backfiring? It's been a while since I've seen a Renault 4L or a Citroen 2CV.

I didn't really know how else to work in the retreating thing. I guess I could have used the word "retreat" but it seems too obvious.

I just read an account of a guy who tried horse meat and liked it. Apparently it's very difficult to get in the US.

Oh I see. Well it's win-win for me, when I go back to my country I'm considered a butcher.

I'm surprised you didn't allude to stinky cheese. I actually like a good runny camembert (unpasteurized of course) with red Bordeaux.

It wasn't all bad...

Imagine being surrounded by bikes unable to ride and being told by someone every 2 minutes that this is the greatest day ever for a bike ride.

Oh yeah.. The phone won't stop ringing and people tell you that you are way too expensive.

That was my day today.

Well, you got to talk to me on the phone a couple of times.

For the record, I did 2 hours+ solo at Allaire. Rode pretty hard and rapped with some fine folks at various trail heads.

Prior to that, I spent most of the day discussing Mark Twain with a bunch of 10th graders.

Did a nice ride this morning from Ringwood - Wanaque - Pompton Lakes - Wayne, went to the gym for an hour and then rode back the same way. Felt great to be out there for the 30 miles. The roads were surprisingly clean and the traffic was light. The air temperature was perfect!

Anyone else get out today?

Yesterday was my best day of the season so far, only got out for about an hour in Boonton/Kinnelon area but felt great.

I grew up in Ringwood and hate road biking there cause people are dicks on Ringwood Ave. all power to you though.

so you live on rock ridge rd?

I used to live in the cooks pond area and YTC100 still does.

I did the Faysen lakes loop yesterday too, but I am starting to add brookvalley to it

That I do.

I love cruising along brookvalley such a fast road with a good shoulder. I've been starting to head up to surprise lake some as well.

I'm still relatively new to the area so any other areas to ride that you could recommend would be great.

Go that way. Really fast. If something gets in your way...turn.

Enjoy!
