It Goes to 33! New XTR Di2!

im not sure if this ridiculously overkill for any human to ride, but damn that one handed shifting is freaking badass.

I know on the road group it's pretty cool how the front derailleur micro adjusts when you're shifting the rear. Wake me up when there's 2x11 SLX Di2.

Sign me up!

Seriously, seems cool but holy expensive cost of entry.

I've been a SRAM guy for years, but this has my lust-meter pegged.

I am waiting for them to come out with the enduro specific 29" version, finegrs crossed (it must be carbon and have neon graphic too).

Meh. This makes even less sense on the MTB where the potential to destroy parts is high.

Not to mention the short duration of parts availability. The original DA 7970 Di2 group is already obsolete. I've had to sell guys brand new groups because of dis continued parts.

Don't hate. Sooner or later, it will be cheaper to run electronic shifting than to buy a shifter cable and housing.

This stuff is as good as you could imagine.

I currently have two bikes with Di2. Dating back to 2010 when the stuff hit the market. I ride in all conditions and have had nothing go wrong in FOUR years. That includes cross racing. Replace only the chains and keep going.

Di2 can do things you simply cant do with cables. Ride it more than a test ride and you won't go back. It simply never misses a shift. As long as you are at a reasonable cadence ( >40rpm), the chain will not drag or hesitate. Hit the button and it is done!

The biggest reason is often never mentioned. When shifting the rear, the derailleur moves past the cog slightly or over-shifts, after a brief pause it moves back to center over the cog. So when you shift, the chain catches the teeth or ramps of the next gear quicker. Even when under a standing load.

The auto-trim of the Front Der is awesome too. Never hear the chain hitting the fr der cage again. :getsome:

The only thing hindering this movement is price.

Not that it's much of a defense, but Shimano has been that way for years. Ask anyone still hanging on to 8 spd. 🙁

Creating the need to upgrade will never stop from any company. It is literally their job to make the stuff you have obsolete. I was fine with 10spd but 11 pisses me off. One more thing we don't need.
