IGVENTURE

You have to unplug this after charged, why???

I don't know why you have to unplug it, maybe if you leave it plugged in you can get cancer or it burns out the magic waves inside? I did read the instructions and it said to uplug after phone is charged, also the pad flash's when you take phone off of charger when its plugged in.
I don't mind the slow charge since I leave it on the night stand as well overnight but I'm sure after pro-longed use they will find that this will cause brain cancer.

They were nice but I only have room in my bibs for one hammer...OH

I think they say it just as an "incase" sort of thing. Some bad circuit boards can overcharge the battery and make it go bad or set it on fire.

Well for know I'm keeping the wireless charger, even though it makes the Bassomatic seem like the best invention ever.

Last night I went to see Billy Joel at the Garden with Mary, I've seen a lot of shows the last couple of years but I have to say no one owns a stage like him. At 67 yrs old he slows the tempo down and is not running all over the stage however his presence on stage is very powerful. His ability to relax and relate to an arena is incredible, this is what makes him a stand-out performer, not to mention that every song he played was a hit from the 70's & 80's. This means the age of the crowd varied from mostly 30-50 yrs old. I fell into the camp of loving the 70's material Billy Joel, The Stranger is his best imo. What I love about this ablum is that it reminds me so much of growing up, my friend on my block had this album and we would play it constantly when I was at his house. When we were on the train ride into the city it was filled mostly with concert goers, I heard a girl in her 30's say she hopes that he plays mostly 80's stuff...I had to let out an audible moan and say are you kidding me.

Our seats were ok but still away from the stage, I'm used to seeing shows at smaller clubs and being close to the stage. The first 30 minutes the crowd was a bit cold despite BJ hitting them with great material however like most shows I've seen the audience warms up about 40 minutes into it. When he played Movin Out(anthonys song) people got on their feet and stayed up for the rest of the show. Jimmy Fallon joined BJ for a few songs during the night doing a Stones song(Start me Up and some classic NY material mixed with some 50's Do-op) which made for a lively and entertaining set. Fallon is so good at imitating performers I wonder if he is frustrated that no one would give a shit if he came up with his own material, people would rather see him cover someone else.

To wrap this up I'll say that despite the fact that I am more into alt type music(college radio stuff), I found last nights show to be a blast. Billy Joel is the man, he owned the 70's and 80's. He was not a badass Mick Jagger but he is a incredible songwriter and performer, which is very rare. There are a lot of great bands/musicians out there but what makes a superstar is the ability to write music and perform it on stage with style. One final word, the best song of the night was Scenes from an Italian Restaurant. As I was listening to it it dawned on me it was very Beatles-like, the way he flows back an forth with melody , switching up the tempo all with creative song writing. Like the Beatles music we hear it all the time on the radio and it becomes like elevator music but damn it really is a great song.

YouTube Howard Sterns interviews of Billy Joel. They are extremely good, you really get to learn the making of him and what makes him click.

Can you even see the stage? Nice write up. I always liked BJ and his music does get you up and moving. Ive seen his shows maybe 5 times now and my wife loves that shit so I make the best of it. Glad to see you're using your new camera more.

im still milking my lifetime subscription that I bought in 06...I think I got my $349 worth. But that is pretty awesome....although at this point, theres many other things on sirius i listen to other than stern.

I kinda remember that Stern interview with Joel. He was just as relaxed on stage last night as he was with howard. Really a great show. The pics make it look like I was sitting really far away but the seats were not that bad.

"Whatever music was playing when you first started getting laid, you're gonna love that music for the rest of your life."
- Chris Rock
Actually Billy Joels music was played when I was 10-11 yrs old, too young for getting laid...but I do understand the sentiment between growing up and the music you listened to. I remember going to a spin the bottle party as a teen and Born to Run was on the record player, I'm not a Bruce fan but do kinda like that album.

Time to go back to work but let me give the wknd recap. Saturday I met Utah, @Kirt and the Christmas gang to do a triple parker mooch ride. Emerah led the group through the flatest mooch ride I've ever been on, which was nice because we also avoided the tech stuff. With the mist it was too wet to spend time on slippery rocks. One thing that he pointed out on the ride was this house. Someone told Emerah that it was the oldest house in waterloo. I'm not sure I believe that, it's more likely the oldest house made out of terra cotta drain tile. Using such material was odd but there must be a story to it. @mattybfat must know about this house.
