Believe it or not that tractor does have a safety switch on it, but someone disconnected in the 70's
But this style tractor is a death trap for newbs. It's manual transmission that has a throttle lever that stays in place. Most modern tractors you have to push down to activate the accessories and formward motion because normally they are hydraulic. This thing is direct drive. If I put it in first gear and try to trim around an apple tree with low branches and a branch catches me in the arm/chest you can get really F'd up. Because as soon as it starts moving you your foot comes off the clutch pedal and off the brake pedal. Hopefully the seat snaps/bends off easier than the body breaks.
