Hunting Season-2010

Can someone post the dates for hunting season so I can avoid being shot. I ran into some good 'ol boys out on Kuser (blue) yesterday who indicated that archery season is ongoing. They also indicated that Kuser and Honey Hollow are private trails....any truth to this? Any info would be helpful. BTW, the trails were in great shape.

I'm not familiar at all with the hunting laws and figured I should ask this since I was thinking of riding here after work....is hunting going on all day, or just at night?

Kuser and Honey Hollow are public trails that run thru private property. Typically that is not an issue, but the landowner has restricted access before. So when you are on those trails, be mindful of that. And if you see anyone doing any illegal trail building there, point that out to them. That is an issue that could ruin access for all of us to the entire park.

OK, thanks for the feedback, so Sunday's are cool, and we are now officially in hunting season.

NJTrails.com indicates:
"In the Honey Hollow area, public access is allowed thanks to an easement, but the land is still privately owned, and the owner allows more hunting than the County allows in the rest of the preserve. Please respect any private property in this area. Hunting extends approximately from October through early February, and during that period public access is allowed(and there is no hunting) only on Sundays. Please respect that limitation, which is posted on trails that enter this area."

If you haven't been there Ralph Stover/High Rocks is 25 minutes up the river on the PA side and I don't think there is hunting at all since its a PA state park. One of my favorite trails and no risk of being shot. Just don't fall off the cliff. From Yardley you go straight up 32.

Thanks B&C, I have not been up there but I have heard good things. I would like to get familiar with that park if you would like to guide me through.... let me know if you would like to set up a ride.
