Huber Woods

Thinking of taking a newbie to Huber tomorrow but haven't been there myself in oh, about 4 1/2 years.
Anything new there I should know about...is it still there? more horse traffic? a complete sandbox or would I be better off heading to Clayton?

😕

my opinion - Clayton is many times better than Huber. much more fun. much less sand. go there!

Huber is indeed a sandbox - much worse than ANY other park.

Huber sucks. if it wasnt like 5 minutes from my house I'd never go there 😛

if your going to make the drive you gotta go to hartshorne, than huber. make it worth the drive

Thanks turtle!

ig, chainsaw -

I agree Hartshorne is much better than Huber but I think might be too hilly for a true noob. 😉

If Clayton is doable then so is Mercer...Mercer is truly a good experience for a newb😀...Just another option

I could also suggest Allaire. Thats where I take all my friends who barely know how to pedal a bike... 😀

How's the traffic on the GSP around 3:30-4PM heading south? x117 is one thing but by x98? :getsome:

It should be fine. It will probably be quicker to get to Allaire then get off 117 and head to Huber.

As long as you stay close to your time window.

Around that time, the traffic is ok at exit 98. Lots of cars but moving at good speed. Any time after 4 is when it starts to slow down...

Cant hurt to give it a try... Have fun on the ride! The trails are fast, I was just there on Sunday. 🙂

oh yeah - Allaire is the better option. Clayton is another 20 minutes down I-195. Allaire is right off the Parkway and is also great for beginners.

Good ride this afternoon!
Really like Allaire, all the swooshiness is a pleasant break from all the rock pounding of up North. Good to run into Mike_243, too.

Visited Woody's Roadside for post-ride suds & burgers.

good to meet you again although I seem to have problems remembering real names but I do remember screen names...
