how about a "thick bike"?

I dunno man, I had a 2.25 Saguro on the back of mine, geared. With the sliders full forward I was getting mud rub (sounds like a Urban Dictionary porn thing!) on the chainstay and had to reposition back. There really isn't that much room and I don't see the Knard tire being remotely usable even if it does jam in there.

That said, I do love the idea of throwing the Knard on an average 29er frame. Cake, and eat it too.

"Disclaimer(s):
The KNARD/DISSENT (ALC) combo WILL work in a geared configuration (or applications using a chain tensioner) for CERTAIN.
We expect the slider throw has been limited to ensure proper (bridge) clearance and this needs to be tested. Measurements have not been taken on the remaining throw of the sliders (it may/may not work for certain gear ratios due to limited slider movement).
KNARD fit has NOT been tested on the diSSent (AL), while you are welcomed to do so and we encourage you to share if you do, it is our opinion that the KNARD will NOT fit…plus the diSSent (AL) isn’t currently in production so…meh."

there's really no use for a fat bike in the south each year we get less and less snow, but I thought this was an interesting blurb. Maybe Peter changes the Geo a bit for wider chainstays for better tire clearance.

It's just his way of jumping on the next band wagon and admitting Fat Bikes are cool.

-Jim.

He's been raging against it online for a while now. But that's how he started with 29er SS back in the day, too, so I give him a pass. But I am definitely partial. I'm a Misfit for life. No matter what else I get ( and I maybe getting a second SS soon) I will forever own a Misfit ... I'll be replacing the frame on my current one until I die or Peter stops making them.

Everyone draws a line somewhere. His is apparently at 3".
Personally, I find all tires above 4.8" ridiculous, and I refuse to make a frame that will accommodate tires of that size.
