Planning on hitting this ride up on Saturday with some pals. Curious if anyone has any detail about the condition of the gravel road sections? Chunky gravel, chip seal, oiled? Plan on running kevlar belted 25c tires, not sure if I should run my road wheels or a set of cross wheels. Any info would be appreciated! Hope to see some mountain bike folk at the event!

Bill,
Jimvreeland said the gravel is in better shape than some of the paved roads. Road wheels with 25c are good to go.

The dirt roads are probably in the best shape in the history of this ride. I've ridden all of them within the last 2 weeks.

Enjoy your ride.

I rode it Sunday - Great shape. We are getting some rain on Friday which may change things.

Edit - running a 28c on the rear and 25c on the front - Both Conti 4 seasons on Shimano C24 wheels.

I agree with this statement for the ones I have ridden. I have never seen Hunter Road in such good shape. Looks like the perfect amount of rain to cut any dust.

Rode most of it last weekend. Purrrfect. And yeah, with this lil bit o rain, it's gonna be that much nicer. Long Hill is still loose and off camber-y, so don't get too silly in the corners.
