I haven't seen any details yet, but my WAG is they figured out they didn't have time to rebuild the take-off before practice starts. And since the Jono Jones/enduro moto video proved the existing upper section of the course is still ridable, they're probably going with that. I wouldn't be surprised if a revised canyon jump is there next year. At least now the riders will be able to prepare for it.
On a side note, Jono Jones is a great representation of the "everyday man with dreams." Unlike his brother, riding bikes isn't his full-time job. His day-job is as a financial analyst in the corporate world. But unlike the rest of us, he still has enough talent/skill to go do things like ride Hardline.
