Group Ride Clayton Park Saturday 1/27 9am

Handles rain well (except a few main spots that the TM crew hasn't gotten to yet), the challenge will be if all the packed snow has a chance to melt in time. Best case would actually be some rain over the next two days to speed up the process

Hey folks, we are assessing trail conditions at Clayton Park and will make the call to confirm the ride or cancel by 6pm tonight.

We are hoping you can make it if this is a go. Get yourself ready to go and wait for confirmation this evening.

Good news, THE RIDE IS ON!

@Matt_ was able to check on the trails this afternoon and look at conditions, after a positive report, we are a go.

Thanks you to all the trail volunteers and Matt D for being the Trail Boss at Clayton, not only is this place more fun to ride but it also drains better.

See use in the morning, 9am. Car pool if you can, the lot is small.

Also, we'll be going to lunch afterwards for those interested.

For anyone who might lead a ride:

Recommend avoiding down by the lake, it's under water... Red X

Lower bridges that is typically wet, is wet but passable.... But worth avoiding if you can. Red circle.

Blue circles are two other typically wet spots, not the worst I've seen them but go slow. These are sections the trail crew hasn't gotten to yet but will eventually be re-routed.

The rest, let it rip 🤘

*Bike pic was after my scouting ride today*

Always fun catching up with folks at these.

Was tickled to see the Wookiee zipping around out there like a kid at Christmas. Much fun was had!

Teresa was a most excellent ride leader…well, we were the best group, obviously 😉. We enjoyed lots of wise cracking, laughter and encouragement was shared freely.

Speaking of sharing, I’m confident the hunters in the next county knew exactly which direction we were turning at each intersection 😇

See y’all at the next one.

Great turnout today!! Was awesome seeing everyone 🤘

Also, my apologies to anyone with a muddy bike from the trail we call "last climb out". I didn't make it clear to all the leaders that when I said the lower field section is off limits, that also meant that section of trail we typically use to access it (which is really fun to ride down btw).... I didn't think about alternate routes to get there 🤦😅

In all seriousness, great group of folk today. Seemed like everyone had a good time and that’s all that matters. Good to see so many familiar faces and good to finally meet @SAM ! A huge thanks to @Mitch for having my back, and for lunch…. and @Juggernaut for keeping me in sight the whole ride to make sure I didn’t do anything stupid.
Now for a much needed nap

It was great meeting and riding with you! Surprisingly good trails and a nice day for this wet January. Only regert is I missed the after-lunch. Next time 🙂.

I was glad that we were able to get this in, it was great seeing everyone.

Thanks to @Matt_ and team EPS for leading rides today, we had a lot of mtbers enjoying the flow.

We are going to keep this series going, stay tuned for details about a ride at Stephen's in February.
