Going Long and Hard.

Do you think if you had an eBike the Teslas would just know it and steer themselves away from you?

Asking for a friend (of course).

I tried that and it didn’t seem to help.

You’d think someone that buys an electric car to save the environment would be more sensitive to a bike commuter? Kinda have the same goal? Brothers in arms kinda vibe?

When did the pick up truck crowd become the nice ones out there? Is this the Upside Down? How would we know? I can play Master of Puppets already so we should be safe but…

Did my local mixed terrain loop out to 6-Mile and back to test the Roubaix fit and basic setup. Right out of gate it’s dead on and feels a billion times more correct than my Aethos. I’m between sizes on the Aethos and can’t really get either to feel the way I want. Whereas a 52 Tarmac or Crux is dead on. Could probably run a longer stem and zero post to move forward a bit but, who cares, I own this bike and it fits PERFECT.

Initial impressions are good, it’ll definitely do what I need it to do across multiple terrain and distance options. And as far as Brevets, I don’t think there could be a better option in a modern platform. 38c with full fenders would win over even the cromudgenest of Randonneurs.

And seriously, look at the COLOR!! First time in a really, really long time I’ve owned a Specialized that I actually like the paint. Up to now I’ve owned whatever color the bike was because that’s what color it came in and I just made it work.

Finally got to wear my new Ragnaroks. Had to wait until I rode the STR in so I could wear them home. Although, I did drive yesterday so…Anyway. The new Ragnaroks are pretty cool. They’re more like the other 45NRTH boots now but still light enough to be a good this time of year shoe. They feel warmer than the old ones but it wasn’t actually cold today so we’ll have to wait to really know.

My wife took this photo because people keep asking what to wear when it’s 35 so I can show them this.

Really put the new wheels through the wringer today. Stairs, rode Watchung on the way in, etc. Super fun basically riding a drop bar MTB, but the Diverge is so my better put together than something like a Cutthroat or that type of drop bar MTB. This feels like a normal gravel bike just with monster truck wheels on it. Pretty up my ally.

What’s the dark band midway on the right side of the drop? Satellite shifter?

Gym Day.

I haven’t been posting any of my gym day workouts because they’ve just been maintenance more than anything. With ITI coming up that has changed to a more structured 2 day a week program concentrating mostly on deadlifts, planks, and plank pulls which are all my weak points.

Did this loop up there in the gravels. Uploaded Ryan’s file to continue testing the routing features of the Karoo. They pushed out some updates that I believe made the unit not only work, but be cool somehow.

Paulinskill was a slopfest so the last 25 miles were a drag.
