Going Long and Hard.

Good thing u got the right brand in the stand.

I took my unicorn home already because I thought I was getting fired all week. Actually, I can randomly get fired for the next 3 months so maybe the Sqweeb stays until Spring.

Seriously though. 10lbs. And SWAT with a hydration pack in the DT? It's next level Bro Shit.

Get that Eagle RD or I post the machete picture and it GAME OVER

Dress for job you want.

Bring your bike in today, Dennis can put an AXS Derailleur on it. It won't shift, but you'll have a Derailleur. I also have Microshift Advent 9 Speed groupsets if you want to convert your bike into a Walmart bike like Matty.

Had to spend the day reorganizing all of my poop. Apparently, even after throwing away 1/2 of my poop after Ida, I still have a lot of poop. With my basement flooding a second time a few days ago, I had to come up with a more permanent solution to keep everything safe that needs to safe.

Nothing will change from a customer point of view. Unless you have a Giant, I might have issues getting proprietary parts from here on out. Also the 2 owners are no longer in the picture so if you had a deal worked out with them for anything, that's gone now. I feel like it'll be super minimal issues. Hopefully our reach for parts and bikes gets better so that would be a good thing for everyone. We're already the biggest Specialized Dealer in the Tri-State so our place in line is pretty good anyway.
HB giftcard didn't work this morning. Are they going to be honored eventually?

Today is the day we begin anew...

I think this deserves its own thread somewhere other than Jim's blog. But, someone else can start it.

After Trek bought High Gear and opened up a shop in Summit, the big S bought SEVEN shops and a warehouse comprising the biggest set of shops in the NYC area. This is in addition to the 25 other shops they own and the 100 that they are planning to acquire.

This reminds me of when the IT guy where I was CFO in 1996 told me about Amazon and I ordered three books online. One of the books that arrived five days later was a guide to motorcycle gang customs and culture, which I didn't order. (Who knew that the Pagans had a west coast chapter way back then?)

Fast forward 25 years and B Daltons is gone and my shoes that I ordered on Amazon will be here in eight days.

Is it possible that the retail bike industry is changing?

So are bicycle manufacturers actually buying these shops?

The Pon Holdings thing may end up being a much bigger “Disturbance in the Force” event. C’dale, Santa Cruz, Cervélo….etc. They’re bigger than Giant now. (The bikes, not Mfg) @jdog, any rumblings yet?
