At this point wearing hiking boots in general is like using tubes in mtb. Trail runners or bust.

For what is worth I'm with @JimN on this one. After testing snow riding for the first time ever I was getting excited for your next adventure...plenty of fresh snow in Ringwood right now if you want to scratch that itch though.

This, this! Imagine if the race gets a snow dump along the route, like in 2019 (every year seems more likely). That flustered pretty much all the front pack that year. You'd be in your element, even if you don have the tractor
