Global Fat Bike Day 2022 (12/3)

Hey Jim do you think Schwalbe Jumbo Jims are good enough for this ride or should I invest in something more aggressive, maybe with studs...I'm new to the fat bike universe. I usually use my Fatbike as my daily ride. My Stumpy is my go to for everything else.

You'll be plenty fine with Jumbo Jims. I suspect the beach is going to be fast by December given the current temps.

Went out and did some recon this morning, here's the footage from that. Will also give you an idea of what to expect. This is definitely a ride that will exploit what these bikes are capable of so be prepared for some SOFT conditions and minimal PSI.

Pre-riding the route for Global Fat Bike Day.

Here's an example of the route. Some of the Bay side can change depending on tide level but it won't stray very far. Last year a second group went out and did an extended loop afterwards so if the mileage seems low don't worry, I gotchoo fam.

Looking forward to seeing a good group. There are plenty of bailout points so join us for a piece of the fun if you're unsure.

Awesome thanks! See you then.

I’m a definite maybe for this one. I have to work (which actually puts me about 2 miles from Sandy Hook) and should be done by 10am. If it’s not a total washout I just might bring the fattie with me….
