I'm looking to switch from my niner carbon fork to a suspension fork...anyone have opinions on fox over rockshox? Is the extra money for fox really worth it?

of the two you mentioned, fox is better. it always felt smoother to me. whether or not it is worth the price is up to you.

Do you have a budget? Tapered or straight, 15QR or 9mm, remote lockout, travel....? Kinda have to figure out what you want and start shopping. Not trying to give you a hard time but there are lots of options.

Fox or Rockshox is kinda like the Sram or Shimano question. I was shopping for a fork recently, woulda been fine with a Revelation but a Fox came along at the right price so that's what I bought. Make sure you're doing an "apples to apples" comparison. There are a lot of coil-spring Rockshox products that price out cheaper.

Pricepoint.com has a couple Reba 29'er forks on sale if you want to check those out. I think Bikerbob.com was mentioned also.

I need a non tapered 1-1/8", 9 mm...looking to spend about $400 (but less would be great!). Remote lock-out not a necessary requirement...looking for 80mm or 100mm.

they are both smoother than what you have, I've used both brands of forks but they were on the bikes when I bought them so I never changed it out. I don't have a preference, find a good value new or lightly used.

I have a Reba but when I had the chance to use Fox I felt it was superior.

I have one of each but the Reba is a well worn 80mm, the Fox is a brand new 130mm. It's just an uneven comparison. That said, the Fox is MUCH more plush, but also a lot more bounce pedaling.
The Fox vs. the stock coil Tora TK was no contest. So I'd avoid the lower end Rockshox. Still probably better than rigid...😀

I have a used F29, 100mm that I would unload for $400. It is a 2008 and was used for 2 seasons, less than 700mi. I would toss in new fluid and seals too. Pm me if interested.
