I'm an old school biker riding antique hardware. I just acquired a 1993 Raleigh John Tomac Titanium on Craigslist for a song. Think low, then think lower! It replaced a vintage Raleigh MT500 Technium that is still going strong!

This bike is almost museum quality, lots of magenta bling, Rock Shok Mag21, original gum Tioga Psycho tires. The recent rains have stopped me from doing much trail riding, but I spend a lot of time at Stokes State Forest and ride the rocky trails there.

I live 4 blocks from the South Mountain Reservation, but have stayed clear of there for many years-tempted every nice day, though.

Any Essex County riders looking for another trail buddy?

Welcome. I work right down the street from South Mountain and it sucks hard core that we can't ride there. Maybe some day....

I live about a mile from SoMo. There are others on this board who live/work close to SoMo. We should print some "Live in Essex County - bike in the other 20 counties!" shirts made 🙄

Post a picture of the bike!!! :worthless

BTW: I ride my road bike around SoMo and into Millburn at least once a week - and gaze at the wonderful trails that I am not allowed to enjoy despite the amount I pay in county taxes each year. I usually drive to Lewis Morris, Tourne, Allamuchy, Chimney Rock, etc to ride.

South Mountain

I'll get a pic of the bike up soon. I know that there is some clandestine riding going on in SoMo. I'm an active hiker, too, and am astonished the deer hunters ATVs get a bye in the name of "conservation" and county police suvs rip through the mud. I'm guessing that there are some trail runners who leave the park with SoMo mud in their waffles, but they answer to a higher power, I guess.

The crushed stone roads are so washed out that they are dangerous to walk on in places! And the new cuts straight up the hills!

Raleigh Tomac

I know that the stem has to go-but do you know how hard it is to find a Tioga Alchemy ahead stem?
