Fast gravel tires

idk man, nothing feels better than being in a large group spread out across the whole gravel road with MTB tires and not having a care in the world for any pothole you encounter...

Just read an article that the next generation gravel bike will have 50 mm tires or MTB. tires. I have 45mm just bc of the sand down here in SJ.
Any thoughts?

On your left! Coming soon on Bedminster gravel... 2 weeks wait from BikeInn

The pirelli cinturato gravel tire looks like an attractive combo of rolling resistance, durability and traction according to the ratings at rolling resistance.

Been running Pirelli’s Gravel ‘H’ in 700x40 for a year and love ‘em. Measure out to 43 on my Enve rims (25 internal).

JFC their website is a chore. I want to look at these, and their other gravel offerings, but you can’t seem view all the tires. You need to go through their tire finder to get a curated experience. I hate marketing departments!!

We actually sell the little gravel tires like the Pathfinder 32s to dudes that want to ride gravel on their road bike. You can run those 32s on the Tarmac and have a ridiculous fast setup. Although most of the pros run huge tires.
Yes, this is probably the only reasoning i can think of, trying to make your road bike passable on sections that it shouldnt be.

If you have clearance for more, you'd be silly to not use it tho

Agreed. But bikes like the Roubaix or Synapse or Defy have only been able to clear 32-34 up until 2024 so there’s a shit ton of bikes out there with garbage clearance. Even the first Diverge only clears a 34.
