The parts and more importantly Labor hours for a teardown service is going skyrocket as these bikes age
Oh yeah! I decided to install an offset 9point8 dropper on my Neo2, jeez of man! What a mess that turned out to be. I gave up, put the original dropper back in, pushed my saddle back and called it a learning experience. Maybe one day someone will post a video of tearing that thing apart and I'll give it a try again....maybe.$350-$450 to rebuild an integrated front end on an electronic shifting road bike. A cable shift bike is $100 or so more. A mountain bike with a dropper and cable shift? I would just turn it away because the little profit you’d make isn’t worth the bad reviews for charging the amount of labor that would take.
