dt 240's

Is this upgrade something someone mechanically inclined can do themselves? Please report back, as I am on the fence about hubs for some replacement wheels.

I had the shop do it when they built my wheels. From what I hear, the DT's are super easy to service and if that's true, I can't imagine that its terribly difficult to replace the ratchet.

Kingers on the other hand, I feel like you'd need an engineering degree to service the hub.

Lots of great hubs. FWIW I've been riding Hadley Racing hubs... 72pt / 4 pawl engagement. They're super reliable, easy to service, and the inside of the hub looks like a hi-tech clean room... Their tech support helped me to reseat a bearing (all by myself!!) after the hub axle took a direct shot (in an accident). I love King, DT and Hope, but I'm sold on Hadley.
