Dirt Jump Tracks

I apologize if this is in the wrong spot, it didn't really fit well in any of the categories.

Does anyone know of any dirt jump tracks in the South Jersey area? I'm willing to drive 2-3 hours. I've searched, but can't really find anything other than the Philly Pump Track, and its closed right now. Thanks in advance for your help.

2-3 hours is a big window for south jersey.

Anyways, most jumps are on built illegally and kept close to the vest so they dont get plowed. In any case, catty woods is is within your driving radius but this place is for people that already know how to jump and doesnt have much if you are looking for a pump track.'

Brooklyn has a new paved pump track too.

For starters, check out the Sayreville skate park and get to know some of the locals. Do some cool shit on your bike and earn the respect and friendship of the guys who know where the good shit is. You will then find what you're looking for.

oh and when you get to there, bring a shovel and offer to put in some work.

Thanks for the tips. My son does freestyle BMX now and skateboarding. The 2-3 hour window is because that is what we are used to driving to get to skateparks. That's also the commute to Mountain Creek.

West Milford:

There are also some options in NYC.

Highbridge (meh):

Cunningham Park is much better, but it's a pain to get to with all the toll and traffic:

As someone mentioned, Brooklyn (it used to be dirt, but they moved locations and now it's paved):

Will check out West Milford on the next trip to MC. We will be planning a trip to NYC to skate in the fall, may have to expand on that and check out the bike parks.

I assume you have been to Phillyside?

In any case, you don't need to go to NYC to ride dirt / pump track considering the Bethlehem, PA area has some of the best trails (dirt jumps) in the world.

Have not been to Phillyside? What/where is that? Have been waiting to go to PA Woods but the weather has not been cooperating.

Catty Woods, PA Woods is the website.

Phillyside is FDR park in Philly, on Broad Street next to the sports complex.

If riding a bike, you need to ride this before 7am unless you want to get some very hard looks from the locals. It is a skatepark built by skaters and the anti-bike vibes are legit.

Oh, ok, we have been to FDR many times. My son is a skateboarder and likes it there. Most times, lol.

They were about 10-20 people there throughout the day. All very friendly and helpful. There were also two younger kids there, 11 and 9 maybe?? who were killing it. Most of the trails there are too big for him, like 99% of them. There were two trails on the edge that were perfect for him. The way he was riding I don't think it will take long to progress though and start working his way up. And let me say that there are a lot of trails there. I couldn't believe how much was there. The place is amazing.

Spraying some water and packing some dirt before the ride goes a long way

We always appreciated the occasional visitor to pick up a push broom and clean off the trails, help fill a wheel barrow full of dirt or make a run to 7-11 or Wawa for gatorade while we worked

We used to bust balls for those who would sit on top of the jumps and ef up the lips or push dirt off the side of landings...or leave trash behind or not put tools back.

Definitely going to do what we can to help out. We always go places with the same thought as when we used to wheeling, bring out whatever you bring in, don't leave anything behind.
