One of the newer (to me anyway) features of Strava, is the weekly heatmap.

This shows what people are actually riding.

Kudos here to @mattybfat as a year ago, very few people were riding DP.

I do want to make it clear that if the trail is not sanctioned by the park then it should be marked unsanctioned in TF regardless of if people think it is the best trail in the park or what @mergs said 17 yrs ago. Sorry @mergs; love you man. JORBA can work with the park to adopt the trail in the future. The park has the final word on sanctioning or not sanctioning a trail, period.

Regardless, the admin power should be removed from the user in question.

Lol it's a weekly map I'm pretty sure and right now trails have a foot deep of fluffy leaves which is quite interesting. Need rain!

I noticed the Rogue trail has disappeared from the Trailforks map. Just rode it on Saturday and it was on the map then. Did something happen between now and then?

I still see it on mine. It is listed as unsanctioned but still shows. I pay for TF. Not sure if you use free version which limits to a certain radius. Maybe it has other limitations too.

Ehh; big difference between no one riding and no one riding with an app that tracks and uploads their location.

Jorba would never support an unsanctioned trail. They could support the process to get it sanctioned tho.

Windslut complained when I bulk cleared the bulk closures!

@Bleeder is the NJ head admin for TF.

Well no, since we all ride unsanctioned trails, knowingly or not.

There are better ways of getting it on the official map than just riding it, and acting like it is sanctioned.

Ok - it is now 'unsanctioned' but not hidden.

That seems to meet the needs of both groups.

Yeah, my screenshot was from the browser app. But I see it included in both desktop and mobile apps now. See Patrick's comment directly above.

Lol, I'm the idiot who didn't think about that before riding there last week. It's actually very fun, but was something I should've considered much more in terms of how much effort it adds to ride on before riding 16 miles in there.

My weekly heatmap does show people riding in mooch north, but much less than any of the other two parks (other than ditch/cardiac side):

You might need to re-sync your map downloads in the app in order to see any change on this trail.

At least I now understand what windslut means.
