Deer Park Conditions

This tree is on the white trail approx 0.25 mile south of Deer Park Pond.

Thanks! Now gone.

My next chainsaw session will be in DP. If you are aware of any blowdowns, please let me know ASAP. Pics of the issue and a screenshot of its location on trailforks works best for me, but verbal descriptions are still welcome. Thanks in advance.

There's always that monster leaner that's getting a little harder to navigate 😉

I don't expect you to get that but it is such a buzz kill.

On white past the barrberry trail before pickle park area. 24-30 inch round.

Been leaning since sandy she just won't come down...

Yes I've got my eye on that one. Last time I passed it, I only had the smaller saw with me. That's gonna take the bigger one. Thanks!

This took me a few minutes to figure out where you were referring too. Now I can’t stop giggling.

I got into Deer Park yesterday, starting at the school. I did some smaller clearings and removals from the "Allamuchy Pond trail", working my way over to "Deer Path Trail" (White-near the Pickle Park, lol) where I finally attacked that massive two headed leaner. I fought with that one a bit, but finally got it done after about an hour. Kinda proud of that removal due to it's complexity. Oh, the trails were super wet and muddy, I'd recommend giving it a little more dry-out time before doing a regular ride. Some trails were still in Stream mode, with active running water. I ran out of time or I'd have gotten a few other targets near yellow. Please keep the intel coming, I'm sure there's a lot of new blowdowns.

Any intel on riding conditions?
Waterloo Green to White to Lake View to Rogue to Red/Waterloo was fine in my opinion. Not muddy. Water higher at typical crossings. Pond at the start of Rogue (bypass to the left). No info for the rest of the park.

Hey is there any new news on the main entrance to Deer Park? I know this is a multi years long saga. The last time i parked at Stevens even at the ranger station they had no clue of status. These are pics from the last time i went to check if it was back open but they residents upped their game from a makeshift gate and doubled down apparently Some of the signs make you believe it was closed by the town due to lack of funding when i believe it is just these &$”@!! On Deer Park road. Despicable

Tonight's focus was on Deer Park. Thanks to Matt B for the assist. Got most of the targets/waypoints I was hoping to get on this mission, but had to leave behind a monster since we ran out of daylight. Even got that pesky one by the lake/dam, which has been there entirely too long. Here's some pics. (the last one still there). DP will require a second visit.

Conditions wise, DP seemed pretty good for the limited parts I saw. Needs some small stick clearing like everywhere else. The stream coming up from Kinney Rd was the only really messy spot. Seems like those rock bridges, while well intentioned, are creating a wide mess of water and mud.
