Wow what a race. Tom turner from Jamis finished two laps in 2:58....unbelievable.

I took 57th in mens sport, with 180 riders total, 80 of which DNF after the first lap. Stopped on my second lap to help a guy named Frank, wearing a visual productions kit, who broke his collar bone. His bike was 10 ft into the woods, upside down, in a tree, all twisted to shit. I used my hawian lei (given out from comsuming beer), as a sling for his arm. His shoulder was all jacked up, collar bone was clearly broken, and all he worried about was how pissed his wife was gunna be...good spirits, hope he's alright.

My first lap was 1:48. My riding partner who I was behind opted not to stop and help Frank, took 37th with a 4:14:

This was my first race ever, besides a DNF at lewis morris due to a torn labrum in my shoulder.

Course was perfect, minimal water/puddles. Darkhorse really went all out.

Mtbnj guys did great.

I aslo stopped and introduced myself to GTLUKE and thanked him for doing what he does. I was riding for darkhorse.

Good job on your race! And the fact that you stopped to help an injured racer, for me, is more rewarding than the race itself. I raced at Stewart in '08 bailed hard and broke my collarbone too. I was helped out of the woods by Ellen White and will never forget what she did for me that day.
RC ... 🙂

Cool, nice job man! I think I saw that guy after the race, looked like that hurt, alot. Where did he crash?

Fire road hell to start then another monster fire road climb somewhere in the middle I think- other than that nice layout and tougher than last year. Still funny to see some of these roadies flying around but then unable to get through a few rocks at the first single track section- good stuff. Rode as hard as I ever had- even had Luke cheering me up the hill he was camped out at. Some nice racers out there supporting each other- nice to see. Some guy crashed 3 seconds after the start trying to bust through 180 riders and almost took out 20 riders- what an idiot. Nothing worth getting hurt over out there- guess he didn't read those 8 emails like everyone else.
Hats off to the beer girls- best beer I've ever had!😀
Can't wait to get back on the nomad 🙂

The crash was on the second lap, after Indecision meets up with Ridge trail. It was a fast downhill section, sweeping to the right. He never went right..

Thanks Bri!

And the cluster of an accident took place directly to my right, that put a nice seperation on the crowd.

Can't wait to see the epic photo of my stupid crash. My apologies to the photographer that I almost crashed into.

It was a great race my first DH I will be back, managed 16 in the masters men, it was a little bit warm, I was on a Turner Sultan, really well organised and fun, nice and fast

I had no cell service, I somehow got that one horribly inaccurate post out.
Met that dude Seth? I think who has the same exact new bike as me.
I had a few problems with my location and setup today, hopefully I got at least one good shot of everyone, but I have a feeling a botched up both of a few...

Why was there so much attrition today? Heat? Flats? Crashes? Roadies?

The course wasn't easy..and it was F***ing HOT! I met one guy who got 7 flats! There were a few heat exhuastion/ cramp drops. I fought leg cramps the entire 2nd lap. The roadies def stuck out, they flew by me on the fire road, then I flew by them on the single track.
