at the patriots path trail bridge.... near the picnic area (site of the MTBNJ picnic a few years ago).... where certain people like to cross the stream.... where in the past it's been taped off (which didn't discourage people).... during the first asthma attack... summoned the inner beaver and dragged some downed branches over....maybe that should discourage people from crossing the stream

btw... green trail has a nice, large downed tree in the path...

maybe I should pick up some Molson to drink

Love the beaver. Why would you want to get your bike muddy when there's that bridge right there? What's that anomaly on those photos? In the upper right-hand corner.

As for "if you ain't crashin'..." then you're probably old and have learned that it hurts and breaks your bike.

it's something with my Iphone lens cover.

the helmet cover is meant for my snowboarding helmet... if it was worth my time to go snowboarding right now...

that bridge is a tight corner... I usually have to dismount when coming from the picnic side.

maybe we need to booby trap the stream with a couple boxes of galvanized screws (a mine field of screws)... for those who choose to cross into the stream (the second pic shows tire marks) will risk some sharp screws puncturing the tire & tube (for those running tubes)

That's a retarded idea.

The stream crossing is used in the race which is promoted by Marty's and sanctioned by the park. That's really the end of the discussion.

stream crossings are fun, think of it as a free bike wash. Just don't fall in when its 30 degrees, that'll cut your ride short.

What do you have against the stream crossing?

And when someone falls onto the nails in your booby trap? You may end up in jail. As Norm said, retarded. See the thread about booby trapped trails at Jungle Habitat.

Wasn't a log put in to try to dissuade people from riding over the bridge or was that some kind of erosion control measure? Frankly I'm not sure what the heck I'm intended to do in that section anymore. I used to use the bridge, but once the log went in I started using the stream.

The bridge is annoying but I use it anyway. They need to put a 4 lane bridge over the stream to alleviate this situation. Maybe drop 4 tons of gravel there. Isn't that the normal MO of the park?

I heard they were installing a toll bridge over that stream to help fund operating costs, capital programs and transportation costs. This was all part of corzines toll increase program that passed back in '08.
