just looking to see what people are doing

i replaced my screen on my 6+ 3 weeks ago after 2 years of use, today i cracked it again much worse and with less of a drop height, i think apple is making replacement screens thinner (conspiracy theory)

has any one had any luck or bad luck using the kiosk guys who repair screens? apple charges 149 and the kiosk guys usually 120 for the 6+, ive heard good and bad from kiosk replacements just want to know if anyone here has had any firsthand experience

all of the carriers dont provide a subsidized price for the new iphone 7, the att rep explained it best, "no more 2 year service contracts, now you have a 2 year contract to finance the phone" so its the same price across the board, ive been using an iphone for years ever since it was released only for att. no real reason for me to pay 90 a month if i dont get the phone at a discount, considering moving to cricket which runs on the same att network.

just venting that im gonna spend another 150 on this damn screen in a month

im ready to go back to my tony soprano motorolla star tac phone.

I paid $100 for a new screen on my 6 a few months ago. They were able to fix it in about an hour and it seems to work just fine to me.

I talked the kiosk guy down to 85 bucks, he replaced my daughter's screen while we scarfed down some Johnny Rockets. No problems and the phone looked exactly the same as when it came out of the box.

sounds good so far...
we did my daughters 5s a few years back and we lost the microphone a week later
good to know quality is getting better

i haven't checked what the batteries+ people charge - w1f3's 6+ is cracked, we should get that taken care of soon.....

After you get the new screen get a tempered glass screen protector. That will crack before the screen will if dropped and it will feel buttery smooth.

I use ZAGG brand of screen protectors on my phones. I had a ZAGG glass one and one time when I took my phone out my back pocket while on MTB, the phone got flung out as if I threw it down and it landed glass-side down on a big rock. The ZAGG glass screen protector shattered, but the phone itself was unharmed. ZAGG replaced it for free under their warranty program and they also waived shipping to me. I replaced it with a ZAGG HDX screen protector and it is great. The HDX is not actual glass, so it will not shatter like the rigid ZAGG glass one shattered.

Garden State Mall/Westfielf Mall (Rt. 17 and 4 intersection) or whatever they call it nowadays should still have a repair kiosk thingy by the food court.

They're not super hard to do yourself if you have the patience. I've a couple parts replacements on my iPhones throughout the years, like charging port, battery, speaker, one screen, etc. ifixit.com has pretty good step by step guides and they sell a bunch of parts and tool kits as well.

Sounds like you need to stop dropping your phone. Cheapest solution!

I used icracked.com yesterday, the dude came to my job and fixed it in the Parking lot in his driver seat. The cost he quoted me was 129 for a iPhone 6 SE with black screen. Included in that price is a lifetime warranty, and tempered glass screen protector.

Turned out that he and I graduated from DeVRY at the same time, he also had pitbulls so I sweetened the deal for him and handed him some dog bones for them hot off the press. He dropped the price to 115 plus tax. 20 minutes later I had my phone back and in perfect working condition. I highly suggest this service.
