you are right on that, its also seems that for healthy people its not all that severe, some are even lucky enough to never have symptoms. . . . . i dont think its worth panicing over

true, I posted a study earlier from JAMA on Chinese patients showing it's much more deadly for those really old and/or compromised with other health issues. And antiviral drugs currently being tested could be effective treatments:

i'm thinking that people have a hard time with the math.
exponential/geometric spread is hard to comprehend when the numbers are sub-100.
when they go to 1000 in a week, 10000 the next is when it gets real.

it won’t get that real here. Someday maybe, hopefully not.

The news is ridiculous. Now they’re accusing the government for not doing enough? Scientifically you can throw all the money at it that you want, but the impact will be minimal. The only thing the government can do to stop any epidemic is shut down the borders and declare martial law. I don’t think the news will like that too much either.

My wife is freaking out because Stop & Shop ran out of hand sanitizer. She takes NJ Transit to the Path to the World Trade Center every day. I think clean hands are the least of her problems.
