Commuting

I knew it was gonna be rough when I was riding the greenway and saw the waves on the Hudson. Always fun getting pelted with 1000 tiny rocks while going 20 mph.

I'm a lot close than the pin. I'm at 26 Bruckner. Which is at the intersection of Alexander Ave.

That's actually a lot better. You can stay in Manhattan for most of the ride. Willis Ave Bridge or Third Ave Bridge is a no-brainer. Here are the options I'd take:

- GWB to West Side Greenway to 125th to St Nicholas to 120th to 3rd Ave to bridge.

- if you're in a hurry, GWB to St Nicholas to 120th to 3rd Ave to bridge.

- if you have some time, do a lap in central park before heading in.

hah, you guys are lucky! If I commuted in, I think the safest way I could take would run me 17 miles 😡

Not trying to be fresh but that is sooo doable. PRO, All the ladies at work (conditional) will be sweating you when your green machine rolls up.

The most direct route for me is 16 miles each way. I would say depending on the terrain 15-20 is definitley doable on a regular basis.

This was my first 5day commute and between that and the steady head/cross wind my legs gave me the big FU today! But whose complaining work sucks but riding a bike to and fro just makes the time pass so much better...

hah, no, you're right...it definitely is. I guess I keep putting it off b/c of my 2 main issues.
1. I have to go through and in to Newark...the hectic traffic on both sidewalk and streets is pretty crazy and people in Newark are a bit careless.
2. I have to carry a gun and wear a uniform. The gun comes and goes with me almost everywhere. I could probably leave clothes there, but its really a pain in the ass.

So yea...its not really the mileage as much as it is the other crap that goes along w/ the whole work thing 😡

i'd recommend carrying a gun if biking in Newark. Its like a spare tube, u never know when your gonna need it.

Thanks. I didn't consider Greenway St Nick uptown bike lane in the afternoon always has cars doubled parked or cars driving in it. The greenway looks like the way.
