Commuting

Seeing all the miles you guys put in during the week, and how those pay off for you on the weekend dirt rides, makes me want to commute. I went out this past sunday and was dying, couldn't keep up with my riding buddy (commuter too) even when he was on a SS and I had gears.

If you have the ability to commute then start out 1 or 2 days a week depending on your distance. Must be comfortable with cars and ride defensively unless your commute is like your buddies in where he prollys sees 2 cars 😀

And then there was ONE! Commute in with 3 1/2 park laps. I need fenders on the Skinny.

Sorry Matty-
Warm bed > Drizzling rain @ 6am

Maybe something stupid for bonus day on Friday?

Yeah, but I guess I was thinking afternoon stupid.
I'm much better getting my stupid on in the afternoon.

I like the early stupid so i ride early stupid then late stupid for extra stupidness.

I didn't make it either. All this hospital visit stuff plus no sleep is getting kinda tough.

Whats up for tomorrow early and late i am in for both.

I think what i will do in am is cx GW and go north to dykeman and try green east side to park then park loops.

After i may roll the hudson dr loop.

I looked at the map does HD go all the way to Nyack?

Hey Matty. I will be game time decision for the AM. I will text you. Can't do PM though.

HD does not go all the way to Nyack. After that last long climb up to Town of Alpine, it will spit you back on 9W. If you make a left on 9W, it will bring you back South. If you make a right on 9W, it will take you North toward Nyack.

You don't want to take 9W all the way to Nyack though especially at that time because it is dangerous. When you see the sign for Tallman State Park, make a right (Rockland Road). That will take you down into the Town of Piermont. Keep going up Piermont Road and it will take you into Nyack. Take the same route on the way back.

I can't roll tomorrow either, I have to be early and work late. This week has been a big donut on the commutes but I should be back in the game next week.

Henry Hudson Dr. ends in Alpine. The big final climb we did that morning is the "Alpine Climb", and that loop we did is the full loop. To get to Nyack you would want to hop on 9w and keep going north.

You might want to give Ebineezer a shout. He is home early at times and can possibly show you.

Oh google maps show it drop back down after alpine climb. Guess thats just a dead end.

Just tuning in here.

Matty- depending on what your time frame is, I may be able to join you for a little bit of your am trek north, and possibly the post-work fun.

Morning bridge time for me is flexible, so let me know what time you're there.
For the post-work ride, I could be at the bridge probably around 4,
but it depends on what work throws at me-
it's been like wrestling an octopus this week.

If the timing works out, I could show you the way to Nyack.

6 am from the bridge in am. i will stay tuned to whats happening later...

Just a heads up to my commuting friends. This week I am taking a rest week my legs are poop. What this means is slow rolling in and out meaning the easiest way in/out with barely an effort. Back to your regular schedule program 😀
