We rent a house on the lake every year. Any one have recommendations on trails near Colchester or Burlington? I can't see being allowed to sneak out for more than a few hours one morning so it will need to be less than an hours drive.

This is very close, so I will try it one morning if I get a green light for a second day...

We have family in that area. Sunny Hollow is small but fun. I'd compare it to Harshorne...sandy rooty with a few punchy climbs. Saxon Hill is good too. But not sure about conditions or closure. Check the VMBA website. Trails were closed when we were there at Thanksgiving.

Awesome thanks. I didn't mention this trip isnt until the summer... Just looking ahead.

Finally a month a way, figued I would bump this to see if there is any other input.

I'm sure I'm too late to weigh in.. but . I was just up there at a new trail area St Albans Town Forest. . which isn't much climbing, but a ton of tech features.. mostly rock rolls.

and I'm sure you know of Saxon woods. Which is one of my favorite non-climbing places in that area.

there is a new place in Milton that FOTW just created called Bombadier Park that is pretty flat, but can be fun.. with a small jump line area.
(they are also building a new park in Leddy Park )

Sunny Hollow is okay, but I was a bit bored there.

Of course it you head out towards Waterbury there are TONS of places.

nope not too late. We already have a place booked for next summer. I'm sure I will reference this thread again when the time comes. I also don't suck at climbing as much as I did when I started this thread.

not MTB , but the Burlington Bike Path to the Bike Ferry to South Hero Island is a fun trip.. *highly recommend the Maple Creemees at Sebs Snack Bar .. or Two Heroes Brewery once you get there.

Yup. did the loop below this year, and took one trip with my daughter. Unfortunately the brewery was closed when I went by. I was thinking about riding to the border next year. The only part that stinks is the ferry opens so late, and it took forever one time through.
