Some good work yesterday! Thanks crew 🤘

We'll be back at this section in two weeks on the 19th.

I have been riding this place for a long time. I used to love it. Over the years the trails slowly eroded and lacked maintenance. I rode this place for the first time in over a year and a half. The trails are now flowy and sustainable. Mostly hard packed dirt with berms and speed humps. Kudos to the trail crew who brought this place back to life.

We started working on the section of Bridges Trail that enters from the field (aka Downhill Drop or Last Climb Out). Last winter this trail became impassable for a few months due to the mud bog that developed at the bottom. While can't control the lower field section from becoming a swamp (yet), I have plans to get the main singletrack trail under control and better suited to withstand wet winter weather.

Our group split into two groups today so I apologize for the lack of pictures.... But huge shout out to @Purl for leading and sacrificing at least three gallons of sweat working on the entrance from the fields 🍻

Towards the bottom (that typically gets muddy) we added an inside nick and a rolling grade dip to help shed water before the final drop. Next few sessions will add similar along the length (typically, logic dictates starting from the top/source. But with period TM I've learned to incorporate the "bookend" approach)

We could actually use some rain 🤞

Heading back to Clayton, Wednesday August 20th, 5PM
Earlier this year we shifted focus to the new trail build at Crosswicks. However Clayton is in need of some general nick clearance maintenance throughout the park, as well as some updated erosion control for the washout forming at the base of Glen Trail.

We could really use help. The more people that show up, the more of the park we can hit in a single session and get the trails ready for fun Fall riding!

Please consider coming out to help, and spread the word 🤘

Huge thanks to the crew that braved the rain! We didn't melt, and did some awesome work 🤘. Definitely still need a nick clearing session...... I'll have to check with the boss to see if we can do a Wednesday in September 🤔
