Chimney Rock Conditions

Great day at Chimney Rock today. Besides the mud in spots it was an awesome day to ride. Weather was great....not too hot...not too cold. Please was empty...1 car in the lot at lunchtime. At the east end of the white trail I noticed another board broken at the end of the raised wooden platform. The remaining 2 boards you see are pretty spongy and are probably going to break very soon if enough weight goes over them which will result in an ugly otb especially if your ripping down the hill. Just a little warning.....

Lots of trail maintenance happening today & greatly appreciated. I've done my share in the past, but I don't agree with blowing the leaves off trail with leaf blowers. Maybe I'm missing something? Makes no sense...

Maybe I'm old school, but this is mountain biking & don't see it riding the deep woods trails anywhere else. Kudos to all the folks working today regardless.

Yeah, some folks prefer leaf cover but I like the improved traction and trail definition clearing leaves provides. I think the net result at the end of the days TM session was a positive one, thanks for the kudos.

The two guys I rode with today and I liked the leaf blowing on Blue. Easier to see the trail and dries out quicker.

Thanks for the blowing...

This is a long shot, but can any locals comment on potential conditions tomorrow?

I'm not sure how much rain fell/will fall in the vicinity of CR.

Thanks.

We haven't had any rain today, I'll give you a report tomorrow morning.

Yep, it rained approx. .25 last night. You may want to make other plans, particularly if you intend to ride this morning.

I dipped in yesterday, just on yellow. The low spots were slick but since then I have to think it'll be ok tonight.

Going over today. Will post an update later

Was there around 11 today. Blue & red are great, except a little mud in the normal areas at the start of red closest to Newman's.

What Dave said, shit is good to go!!! Like really, really good. Go enjoy.

Has anyone been at Chimney Rock over the past few days. I know it has been wet, but I was planning to sneak out there at lunch and was hoping it wasn't too bad.
