Chain Wax Discussion thread

Will you ship one of them crockpots to 28215

If going in that direction I would play the long game. The goal? Inheriting the Empire, of course!

P.S. how far can this thread be derailed?

Mike doesn’t work for Specialized any more. They let him go 2 years ago. They let him roam around the offices but he mostly stays in the mushroom building he built behind the wind tunnel. There’s no long game because they fire the CEO every year

Hold on. someone wrote this earlier on...wait, it was you!
I'm hoping someone at Brose sleeps with his wife. Then my life would be great again.
Maybe I can get my mom to seduce Mike? Like insider trading.
In any case, shareholders have wives and/or moms too, don't they? Get cracking son...

Bike Tires Direct has the waxing system on sale for 25% off. Is the crockpotinator really that much better than the cheap crock pot method?

I think it's worthy, especially if heavily discounted. The temperature control is the deal breaker no doubt, I would just add that when heating up the wax only (no strip chip) I find a lot faster to set the temperature to 100-110, then lower it to 75 as soon as the wax melts or you will be waiting for a while...or is it just me? So far I've only waxed new chains or used chains that were previously otherwise lubricated, but I won't stress enough how much easier it to clean used dirty chains with a proper ultrasonic cleaner before waxing them.

Agree on all counts. The one time I wasn't strip chipping it took quite long to melt the wax at 75. All my other uses were new chains w/ strip chip and that higher temp definitely gets the melt on way quicker.
